Whitman Shows Canceled
We regret to announce that we will not be appearing at the following shows.
Thursday, Oct. 27th @ The ND
Artist Against Cancer
Saturday, Nov. 12th @ Hole in The Wall
The Revival Fund Weekend
These cancelations are due to a cyst found on front man Ram Vela’s right vocal cord. As Ram explains in the following letter:
Dear Fans and Friends,
I can’t even begin to tell you how sorry I am about having to cancel Whitman’s next couple of shows. The past two months have been more difficult than I could have ever imagined. Between teaching, refereeing, and singing in Whitman, my voice has gone through some serious abuse and now my doctor has found a cyst on my right vocal cord, leaving me not only unable to sing but even speaking has become difficult. The last thing I, or the rest of the guys, want to do is damage my voice beyond repair. I am more than likely going to have to have a minor surgery to remove the cyst followed by intensive voice therapy and rehabilitation in the coming months. We want to make sure that I’m back in ideal singing shape by the time our new record is released in the Spring.
We’ll be back in due time. Take care.
Ram

Both shows are fund raisers for fantastic organizations and Whitman would like to encourage everyone to attend these shows to show your support for these great causes.
If you would like to wish Ram a quick and painless recovery please post your comments either here on the site or on Whitman’s Facebook Page.

New Bass Player!
After a full year of searching the ruins of Tenochtitlan and the suburbs of Austin (AKA: Pflugerville), Whitman has found their new bass player. His name is Micajah Nye. Yes, that is his real name. Bad-ass we know. We’re excited to have “Cajah” on board!
