March 21st, 2011 SXSW 2011, WTF? March 8th, 2011 Thanks for a great show Stubb's
Jan. 26th, 2011 Show Announcement: Whitman will be returning to the stage on March 4th as the official after show for The Walkmen at Stubb's. Free with a ticket to The Walkmen or $5 for everybody else. Lots of new tunes will be played! SXSW dates coming soon. Jan. 15th, 2011 Whitman is hard at work recording a new LP, we will return to the stage in March and expect to release the new record soon after that. Keep checking the site for updates as we'll be putting up some goodies for you soon. Stay Tuned. Oct. 11th, 2010 Tune into the premiere of "Inside the XDL" on Versus tomorrow (Oct. 12) at 11pm to watch some serious sportbike stunt riding to the tune of Whitman's "Cul-De-Sac". It will include the currently unreleased tracks "Cul-De-Sac" and "Light It Up" and include a digital download of both tracks. This limited edition vinyl will only be available at shows and through Whitman’s official online store but digital versions can be purchased through all major digital distributors (i.e itunes, amazon, napster, etc.) after Dec. 19th. June 16, 2009 We have a new drummer. His name is Eric. April 27, 2009 Mr. Fest is a Free Music Festival thrown by KTSW (student radio for Texas State) that will be held on the square in San Marcos, TX next Sat., May 2nd. Whitman will be playing between Built By Snow and Black Joe Lewis on the headlining stage ending an entire day of awesome bands. KTSW is not only an incredible radio station but have been a supporter of Whitman for years so please come out to the Fest and show both Whitman and KTSW your support (good radio is a depleted resource). This show will be worth the 30 mile drive from Austin plus you can go for a swim in the San Marcos River! More info here. March 22, 2009 SXSW 2009 was Awesome!!!! February 26, 2009 Today it appears that Austin’s premier music blog Austin Town Hall has taken it upon themselves to share another new Whitman track with their readers. February 23, 2009 Last weekend we went into the studio to record some new material we had been working on. Our intentions were to challenge ourselves by recording these tracks the ol’ fashioned way. The result is five totally live tracks that we hope capture the energy of our live performances. We planned on only using these as demos but after hearing them we’ve decided to share them with you. If these tracks will ever see a proper release is yet to be determined. Check out our myspace profile to hear the title track “Culdesac”. It's been awhile, especially for those of you outside the great state of Texas, but rest assured we've been hard at work. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to tour since last Fall.
